Holiday Chicken Appetizers from Chicken Farmers of Canada & Giveaway #SJHolidayGifts

The Holiday season is upon us and so many of us are planning festivities which include serving up lovingly made dishes to our friends and family. For our family Christmas it’s all about making memories and the last thing I want to do is stress about menus. When I’m exploring simple, delicious recipe ideas one of the places I turn is to the Chicken Farmers of Canada website. It’s a wealth of knowledge; from information on cooking and storing chicken to recipe listings which I can sort through by many filters…it just makes my choices easier.

I have had the pleasure of working with Chicken Farmers of Canada for years but I am thinking I’d better tell you about them in case you don’t know. Chicken Farmers of Canada is responsible for chicken raised and sold commercially in Canada. They represent our 2,700 farmers, and ensure that the chicken that reaches your table is safe, delicious, and raised to the highest standards.

Today I’ve chosen 5 appetizer recipes which are perfect for Holiday Entertaining! Have a look through…and at the end there may or may not be a giveaway sponsored by my friends at Chicken Farmers of Canada!

Holiday Chicken Appetizers

Holiday Chicken Appetizers

Honey-Dijon Drumsticks

Take 5 ingredients most of us always have at home – and in 5 minutes and you can have a healthy dinner in the oven. Match with a spinach salad or green peas from the freezer plus rice – and dinner’s done in about a half hour. More good news – it’s shy on fat and calories and if you are cooking for one – the downsizing math’s a snap. See the recipe on

Mini Mexican Meatballs

While meatballs are not in the glam appetizer realm, they’re the first to go on most cocktail spreads. Ideal for any casual get together and over the top flavourful, they can also be made ahead if you like. The taste gets better as they sit. See the full recipe on

Polenta Chicken Pizza Bites

This is an easy, flexible recipe and you can change the toppings to suit your preference and what you have available. It also works well with leftover roast chicken. See the full recipe on

Chicken Stuffed Mushrooms with Smoked Paprika Aïoli

These tasty tapas make a wonderful appetizer. Its decadent flavour combination of sherry, chili peppers and fresh rosemary makes for a unique flavour you’ll want to savour again and again. See the full recipe on

Chicken Cacciatore, Friulano & Goat Cheese Pizza

This pizza has loads of flavour, thanks to three different kinds of cheese and several vegetables. Laden with tomatoes, chicken, mushrooms, red onion, and sweet peppers, this pizza is a balanced meal in itself. See the full recipe on
