In Love with Hoover Floormate Deluxe – Enter to WIN One

The day we removed the dusty rose carpet in this fixer-upper was a day of celebration for me. That carpet must have been laid in the ’80s and this girl was READY to pull our decor into the 2000s. For weeks I walked through out home luxuriating in the feel of the smooth hardwood, swept away dust and food bits exclaiming how all of this would have been hidden in the carpet…yes I gushed about my floors.

To this day I adore my hardwood but I have to admit that I am HORRIBLE at cleaning them. Cleaning my floors is something which my husband has banned me from doing. Wether I add too much cleaner and leave streaks, don’t scrub hard enough and leave a not-so-perfect job…I’ve failed utterly at cleaning my gorgeous hardwood and the task has fallen onto my guy.

Not anymore! I am taking back the floor washing and will no longer have to wait for my husband to have time to do it. Between the kids and the 2 dogs, I’ve been ignoring the state of my floors daily but I won’t have to anymore.

My Romance with the Hoover Floormate Deluxe

A few weeks ago the courier dropped me off a package to reivew, I didn’t know that would change my world! I’m not exaggerating at all, when I received the Hoover Floormate Deluxe I didn’t know I’d fall in love.

When I opened the package I was shocked at how light the Floormate Deluxe is, it weights just 13.8 pounds and I easily lifted it and maneuvered it around. As a person who has suffered with a back/neck injury this was freeing, usually I struggle with the weight of these machines but not with this one.

The Hoover Floormate Deluxe was designed to provide the best clean while gently and safely scrubbing sealed hardwood, vinyl, ceramic tile, laminate and marble. It comes with 16 oz. Cleaning Detergent, a Wood Floor Brush and a Tile & Grout Brush.

As you can see in the photo below, my floors are smeary looking. ALL THE TIME.

I read the instructions and it was super simple, I just removed the “Clean tank” by pressing a button and filled it with water, added in the cleaner and plugged it in.

Now comes the cool part! I turned the unit on to begin washing, as I moved it forwards I pressed a button with my trigger finger and it sprayed the water/cleaner onto the floor. As I moved forward the Floormate Deluxe scrubbed and as I pulled the unit backwards, I released the trigger and the unit actually sucked up the water, drying the floor.

I repeated this process, overlapping each line by an inch until I had covered the area. As you can see in the photo below there was very little moisture left on the floor. Frankly at this stage the family had come home so I was rushing and may not have gone over the entire space carefully so I slowed down and switched the machine to the actual “DRY” mode.

The amazing Hoover Floormate Deluxe (yes I love it) was a champ in the DRY mode, I went over all of my floor and it dried it up nicely just in time for our clan to begin messing it up again.

My favourite things about the Hoover Floormate Deluxe:

  • it’s lightweight and easy to move around
  • 2 tanks, makes the clean take always clean and the dirty water simple to dispose of
  • 2 heads, perfect for Tile/Grout or Hardwood
  • DRY function – brilliant
  • leaves NO streaks
  • fantastic results

  1. Vacuum, swiffer, mop,MOP again :P and then hardwood cleaner.I skip the last step for the tile floors. We have 8 cats, and I just can’t keep up after multiple surgeries and hubby tries to do a good job with the floors lol! Would love this, been wanting one for a little while now.

  2. I have one of those comps where you put your own cleaner in and there is a pad on it. But with all the dog hair I don’t get up I go through a lot of pads.

  3. I wash my floors with febreze floor cleaner and its by hand but I have a swiffer I do use after as well

  4. I just had hardwood floors installed and would love a good machine to clean them. So far I am just spot cleaning on with a wet cloth down on my knees.

  5. I am entering your giveaway.
It would be great to win a Hoover Floormate Deluxe.
In response to your question of How do you currently wash your floors?
I wash my floors with a regular mop and bucket.
Thank you for having this giveaway!!!!!!!!!

  6. This Hoover looks way better than the current floor steamer I use on my floors!! With two dogs and a toddler I am washing my floors all of the time.

  7. I dont! LOL just kidding. i do but totally hate doing it. i got the sponge mop and bucket. BOOOO

  8. I use a swiffer, but it’s a pain – if I have the wood bottle in, I have to take it out to do the ceramic and marble.

  9. LOL! It is more of on a “as need” basis. If the floor is sticky, I will get on my hands and knees! It really sucks! I need something like this so my knees don’t give out on me!

  10. I currently use a swiffer wetjet, and put a reusable microfibre pad on it instead of the disposable ones. And I don’t do it nearly often enough!

  11. With 2 dogs, a cat and 2 teenage kids this would sure beat washing by hand!
Looks like it drys quickly that is what I need!

  13. omg …i need this !!!!!!!!!

i use a swiffer first then i get on my hands and knees every other day … i should be doing it 2 times a day ,with a family of 5 and 5 indoor cats ,and my kids always have friends over . this would save me so much time and i would have cleaner floors :)
thanks for the chance to win one :)

  14. i get on my hands and knees and I do my floors daily as i have two dogs and there are always dirty paw prints :)

    1. I’d love this – we don’t have carpet in our house and I SUCK at cleaning the floors. I’ve tried a lot of things….

    2. I currently use Swiffer Wetjet. I would love the Hoover Floormate Deluxe. This looks absolutely amazing!

  15. I currently have an old school mop and I’ve tried washing on my hands and knees but I need something much more powerful!

  16. I currently use a steam mop, its not very good and leaves streaks which means I have to hand wash it again…. Good times, good times, lol.

  17. I currently use an inexpensive spray mop but with five dogs and three cats (all rescues), I have to keep stopping to rinse out the mop pad.

  18. I have a swiffer wet mop, but sometimes I just get down on my hands and knees with a sponge and a bucket.

  19. I currently use an old-fashioned rag mop, they work and they are cheap to replace… I’ve got four dogs, so it gets used alot:)

  20. I use one of those stringy mops to wash my floors. The strings fall off, the cats find them and I inevitably have to yank them out of their mouths so they don’t swallow them (what is it with cats and stringy things?!).

  21. I do it the old fashioned way. Bucket of hot water and several rags and on my hands and knees

  22. I live in a tree bedroom house and even though I am disabled I get down on my hands and knees and clean my floors because I just get mad at when a mop just pushes the dirt around, even though I sweep first…..

  23. I vacuum and sweep them. Then I Swiffer them with the Swiffer wet. They never get super clean though

  24. Right now we (and by that I mean my husband) clean our floors using a regular mop, and it sucks (for my husband!). I do touch ups on my hands and knees with a cloth in between the full job.

  25. Hubby does the floors, for awhile we had a steam mop that he got off of Kijiji, but it broke so now he does in on his hands and knees…

  26. i use a swiffer to mop my floors and if it gets messy from my son i get on my knees to clean it up cause he forgets to clean up him messes in his room so mom to the rescue

  27. Sorry to admit that I do not currently wash my floors. Boy, do I need this. My old mop gave up a few months ago and I have been mopping up spills and sweeping only since!!

  28. I currently wash my floors with a good ole mop and bucket and a scrub brush for the grout on the tile

  29. I switch back and forth between a string mop and scrubbing on my hands and knees when I want to really get the floor clean in every corner.

  30. Mob & Bucket, but I’m always having to go on my hands & knees because it doesn’t clean it up 100%. So this would be amazing!

  31. I get on my knees and wash the floor with a cleaner, warm water and a rag. It really has been the only way to make sure my floor gets clean.

  32. I use one of those sponge mops, it works sometimes, and sometimes I end up going back over places and scrubbing by hand

  33. Not very well and not nearly often enough! Never could get the hang of mops and end up with a sloppy mess ugh!

  34. I would love one of these, can’t seem to find the right mop/shop vac to properly clean my floors….

  35. on my hands and knees to that I can clean right up to the skirting boards and in the corners. The older I get the tougher it gets, so this would be a very welcome addition to my household :-)

  36. I’m using a swiffer to clean my floors but I don’t find it works very well. I would love to try this out! What a time saver!!!

  37. Sadly I use a Sponge type Mop. Drives me crazy leaving streak. Will be Moving shortly & would Love to Win so I can start Fresh ! Thanks for the chance ! Fingers crossed

  38. I currently use a mop (the kind you wring by hand) and a bucket to clean my hardwood and tile floors.

  39. I use a wet Swiffer and while it’s convenient for a quick clean up of a small area, it is NOT a good for cleaning all the hard floors I have. I need a FloorMate!

  40. Like so many others, we’ve found that every mop we’ve tried leaves a lot to be desired, so it’s pretty much a hands and knees effort with lots of rags. What makes it an especially big DRAG is that pretty much all of our floors are either hardwood or ceramic tiles, ugh, and with two new little ones (crawler/toddlers) in our extended family ~ we try to keep the floors as immaculate as possible!

  41. I currently use a Libman mop and Pledge squirt on floor cleaner. It does an okay job, but I feel like I do not get all of the dirt off.

  42. I currently use The swifter Sweeper but this would make my cleaner easier as I run a Bed&Breakfast. Thanks for the chance Cheers.

  43. I have fibromyalgia. Hand and knees are not an option. I moo as much as I can. This would be a godsend for me

  44. Ughhhhh I mop with a sponge mop which gets so full of dirt and pet hair that it does NOT even do the job at all!

  45. I use the Swiffer mop, but I would love the Hoover Floormate Deluxe . It looks like it does a great job. Thanks.
