I’m always on the lookout for new non-alcoholic drink recipes and recently came across one on the Burnbrae Farms website that caught my eye. Their Cocoa Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie recipe was screaming for me to mix some up.
Funnily enough I had all of the ingredients in the house, but of course I adapted it to our tastes by adding extra peanut butter and exchanging the honey for Maple Syrup.
In the end it’s a light, delicious drink that satisfies my chocolate cravings without all of the extra calories!
Cocoa Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie Recipe
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups crushed ice

- 2/3 cups smooth peanut butter
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
PREPARATION
Place ice cubes, bananas, egg whites, peanut butter, cocoa powder and maple syrup into a blender.
Blend until smooth and frothy. My KitchenAid hand blender made this easier than a traditional blender as there was no need to start and stop. I’ll be reviewing this beautiful hand blender next week.
Pour into cups and garnish with a slice of banana or smattering of cocoa.
